1904 Loetz Van Houten Art Nouveau Large golf Trophy League of the Lower lakes

Description

This is a very rare 1904 Golf Trophy. Made of Loetz glass in the Creta Rusticana pattern that looks like Tree bark, with an Art Nouveau Pewter frame signed by the Van Houten company.  Very beautiful iridescent green blue purple and reddish colors.  Measures 11 1/2" from handle to handle by 8 1/4" tall. The condition of the glass is very good with no chips or damage, the frame does have wear and some corrosion (white spots) s seen.  The history of this Trophy is four Teams from Rochester Buffalo Detroit and Toronto would compete in Golf Tournaments. This Trophy was won by the Detroit team of 1904.  The writing is very hard to read so some of the words are very hard to make out but you can see some of the original writing.
