Here is Patd Feb 28, 1911 antique 5 Register Cast Iron, Steel, Brass and Solid Copper Redington Counting
Machine from the F.B. Redington Company of Chicago, IL. This piece features the
Brass Register Wheels and Face Plate, Copper Pitman and Pitman Arm, Steel Cowl
and Counter Box and a Cast Iron Frame. This piece measures roughly 10” in
length and 4” across the box and retains the original mounting screw. The
counter does advance, though I didn’t take it through all 5 digits.
Conditionally, it could use some cleaning to freshen it up a bit. The spring-loaded
Cowl does have pitting and old corrosive wear, yet it is intact and sound
overall. The springs to the inside are also corroded, yet the one attached to
the pitman is sound.
