ANTIQUE1920s Remington
Cash Register
Ser. # 152171
Please pay attention to the photos. They make up most of the description.
This cash register was made by the Remington Fire Arms Company.
I’ve been told that Remington made cash registers from around 1920-1931. This one appears to be from the 1920s and was used by my wife’s grandfather in his barbershop in Pelham, N.Y.
The cash register does not function and needs to be repaired if you want to use it. (I think it looks great just as it is!) The keys appear to be jammed. The drawer is wood and the rest of the machine is metal. The drawer operates when the key mechanism is set to “open drawer”. The register’s locking mechanism still operates and the exterior key is included. There is an interior lock that grants access into the guts of the machine, but I do not have a key for that particular lock. The register was originally painted in a wood grain pattern. At some point in time it was then painted silver and I eventually painted it dark brown so it would be a little closer to its original color. The rear panel of the unit has not been painted and still shows the original factory finish simulated wood grain paint pattern. The back also has the original “Remington” trademark pattern name on it. The register has a number plate on front that states:
A-132 RL 152171
The white panel below the keys is made of a ¼” piece of marble. The cash register was made in the State of N.Y.
The register has numerous scrapes, marks, small dents, tiny rust spots and wear marks that are kind of consistant with a well used, aged item.
This item is being sold “as is. Obviously you are welcome to come and check it out.
Please note: All my messages are emails sent via my computer (so it may take me a little while to get back to people). I don’t use a cell phone for messaging or using the net. Sorry for any inconvenience.
I’m a Marine Corps Infantry veteran and also a former police firearms instructor so, people with nefarious motives need not show up!!! Someone is always on the premises. We will be happy to help you with loading. I take cash only!
Please feel free to ask questions. I'll try to answer them the best that I can. Thank you and God bless!
PHOTOS
: I try to provide good photos of all my items so you can have a very good view of what you are purchasing. Note: Sometimes I’ll place a ruler
or a familiar item, like a dollar bill, in the photos. These are placed there for scale only (they are not included with the purchase).
