Facit is a Swedish company that produces office products.
Founded in 1922, Facit began producing mechanical calculators and typewriters the same year. In the 1960s, the organization, which expanded by opening around 8000 dealers and branches in more than 100 countries, gradually dominated the market. Manufacturing in Åtvidaberg, a small settlement with a population of approximately 7000 in Sweden, it continued to grow and take part in many offices, changing its name to Facit AB in 1965. By 1970, the number of dealers and branches around the world reached 14000, but it started to become obsolete with the introduction of modern key-electronic calculators made in Japan. Despite improving himself with different models and switching to electrically operated types, he lost the market. Facit is identified with the 1954 model known as "Arm Facit", which is the best selling model in the world. Facit, which was sold to Electrolux in 1973 and to Ericsson ten years later in 1983, ceased to be a profitable investment, ceased production in 1988 and closed in 1998. The best known models are: FACIT T, FACIT E, FACIT TK, FACIT EK, FACIT NTK, FACIT NEK, FACIT NEA, FACIT CI-13, FACIT CAI-13, FACIT CEI-13. It also produced a wide variety of office supplies such as typewriters, tape calculators and impact machines.
