Hermes Model 209-8.
Vintage working electric "adding machine".
An excellent functioning historic artifact. This is a beautiful piece of craftsmanship, built during the apex of that style of office machines' manufacturing era. I would date this item as early in the Hermes production, near the mid 1960's.
Though presently operational and cosmetically attractive, very suitable for further restoration (museum piece), and well worth having a qualified tech clean and oil.
A little "weighty" at about 11 pounds - They don't build 'em like this this anymore, and probably never will again, ever.
Operates on 110 volts, 60 cycles.
What makes this item particularly rare and collectible is that it is one of the ones (especially this model) that was "Made in Switzerland". An example of mechanical precision from the country famous for its excellence in watches, clocks, and fine instrumentation.
