OLD 1951 SODA BOTTLE - THE DOUBLE LINE- SEMINOLE DOUBLE COLA JOHNSON CITY TENN

Just a bit of history first. The Good Grape Co. was founded in 1922 by two former Chero-Cola employees.  One of the employees, Charles Little, in 1924, formulated a cola for the new company he started.  It was called Marvel Cola.  Soon, the formula was re-formulated and named Jumbo Cola. At that time, the name of the company also changed to the Seminole Flavor Company.  The Double Cola product was started in 1933. So named because of its larger bottle size.
During WWII, Seminole Flavor Co. and its competitors, had trouble  with soda production. Little made the cola his mainstay. He had a chance to buy the faltering Pepsi:Cola brand, but decided to decline, and keep on with his cola.  In 1953, the name of the company was changed to Double Cola.
This is an empty bottle of The Double Line soda.  The bottle face features a brilliant blue and white contrasting ACL label.  On the backside, the ingredients list and "A Seminole Product Chattanooga, Tenn. Property of Double-Cola Bottling Co. Johnson City, Tenn.".
This bottle was made by the Laurens Glass Company of Laurens, S.C., in 1951 or so.  The bottle is 10 oz. and 9 3/4" tall.  This bottle features a beautiful orange peel effect.
This bottle has little case wear, the ACL's are nice with a bit of wear, as seen in my several pictures,  also no chips or cracks.
