  • Condition: Used condition. The number keys work and print on the paper roll once the crank is pulled, although the print type is light so the ribbons need to be replaced or re-inked. The red sub total and total keys wouldn't press down when I tried, so either they are jammed or not working, or something needs to be done to activate them that I'm not aware of. There is a glass window in the center top area just below the Remington logo. It has 9 digits and I'm not sure what activates those numbers, since I didn't notice them moving when the number keys were pressed. An extra black part is included since I think it went with this machine, although I'm not sure where it goes.

    Here up for sale is a used Remington Rand brand hand crank type adding machine from the 1940s or earlier.  On the bottom there is a plate indicating a serial # or model # M63601.  The number keys work and print on the paper roll once the crank is pulled, although the print type is light so the ribbons need to be replaced or re-inked.  The red sub total and total keys wouldn't press down when I tried, so either they are jammed or not working, or something needs to be done to activate them that I'm not aware of.  There is a glass window in the center top area just below the Remington logo.  It has 9 digits and I'm not sure what activates those numbers, since I didn't notice them moving when the number keys were pressed.  An extra black part is included since I think it went with this machine, although I'm not sure where it goes.  Nice vintage bookkeeping machine that would look good on display.
