VINTAGE PORCELAIN GERMANY INFANT / INVALID FEEDER BLUE ONION DESIGN
The "invalid feeder" was found in many homes and hospitals during the late 19th and early 20th centuries. They were used to facilitate the feeding of invalids. A liquid or semi-soft food was placed in the feeder and the drinking spout was then placed in the person's mouth. It was also called a Pap Cup. Pap is a soft food for infants, made of bread boiled or softened in milk or water.
This wonderful infant / invalid feeder was made in Germany and is decorated with the "blue onion" pattern made famous by the Meissen Company.
