Liam Payne did not commit suicide, prosecutor says

Liam Payne did not commit suicide, according to the prosecutor investigating the case.
The former One Direction star died on Oct. 16 after falling from the third-floor balcony of his hotel room in Buenos Aires.
Prosecutors told TMZ that suicide has officially been ruled out as the cause of the 31-year-old’s plummet from his suite at the CasaSur Palermo Hotel, but rather caused by the effects of drugs he had ingested.
Payne’s autopsy showed that he had multiple substances in his system at the time of his death, including a drug cocktail with the street name “pink cocaine.”
After several raids conducted by local authorities, three people have been arrested in connection to Payne’s death, including a housekeeper at the hotel, an alleged drug dealer and one of his friends, described only as an Argentine businessman by local newspaper Clarin.
The final toxicology report revealed the former One Direction singer also had ingested alcohol and prescription antidepressants within 72 hours of his death.
“This conclusion was reached after the complete toxicology tests on urine, blood and vitreous humour,” according to a press release from the National Criminal and Correctional Prosecutor’s Office No. 14.
The autopsy ruled Payne’s official cause of death as “multiple trauma” and “internal and external hemorrhage” as a result of the fall.
Payne’s body was flown to his family in London on Wednesday, according to the BBC. A precise date for Payne’s funeral has not been made public.
